Russia brings an AL-41ST-25 jet turbine to Innoprom to power gas pipelines
At the Innoprom-2026 forum, United Engine Corporation showcased a 25-to-32 MW industrial gas turbine meant to replace imported pipeline generators.
At the Innoprom-2026 industrial forum in Yekaterinburg, the United Engine Corporation (UEC) displayed the new AL-41ST-25 industrial gas turbine. Developed by the A. Lyulka Design Bureau—a branch of UEC-UMPO based in Ufa—the unit was built on a direct order from Gazprom to substitute for imported generators on main gas pipelines.
The machine operates in the 25 MW and 32 MW power segments. Its stated baseline service life is 120,000 hours, with a maximum limit of 150,000 hours, representing roughly 14 to 17 years of continuous operation, according to the report. Serial production is slated to reach up to 50 units per year at the UEC-UMPO site in Bashkortostan, under an agreement originally signed at the SPIEF in 2021.
As for its current operational status, a prototype has been undergoing tests at the Arskaya compressor station belonging to Gazprom Transgaz Kazan since September 2024. This past winter, the engine received an EAEU declaration of conformity.
