Cursor banned Russians? Amvera just dropped a clone to save the day

Amvera, a Russian PaaS provider, just launched Polide Agent. It is an AI-powered coding tool designed to compete directly with V0, Replit, Bolt, Lovable, and Cursor. While the rest of the world relies on established global ecosystems, Amvera is betting that local infrastructure and the ability to pay with domestic bank cards will be enough to lure developers who suddenly found themselves locked out of their favorite IDEs.

The tool is integrated directly into their cloud hosting. The core functionality allows users to generate code, build websites, and deploy Telegram bots directly from their interface. Instead of relying on VS Code extensions, this is a standalone environment, though it currently sticks to basic web apps and small-scale projects. It handles file exploration, code editing, and even offers a sandbox for previews before hitting the deployment button.

Amvera founder Kirill Kosolapov admits they are in the early stages and lack the billions required to offer unlimited free compute like their Western counterparts. The platform offers a limited free tier aimed at quick prototyping, with paid plans available for those who need more juice. Projects hosted here stay on Amvera servers, which the company claims solves the problem of regional access blocks that frequently plague users of Replit or Vercel.

It is cute how "sovereign" software always seems to be born from necessity rather than innovation. Whether this becomes a genuine tool for the local market or just another walled garden destined to be a footnote remains to be seen. The real question is whether developers will trade global connectivity for the comfort of a local "safe" harbor, or if they will just use a VPN and keep working on the tools that actually define the industry standard.
