Anthropic Files for Nasdaq IPO Under Ticker ANT

Original version ·

The developer behind Claude is heading to the Nasdaq Global Select Market, reporting $16.3 billion in revenue alongside an $80.7 billion loss.

Developer Anthropic filed for an IPO on Monday, October 26, according to Bloomberg. The company behind the Claude AI model plans to trade on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol ANT, as detailed in documents submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Goldman Sachs Group and Morgan Stanley are managing the offering.

According to the filed documents, Anthropic and certain shareholders are offering shares, with the exact volume to be disclosed in a subsequent filing. The figures show that during the first six months of 2026, Anthropic posted a net loss of $80.7 billion against $16.3 billion in revenue. For comparison, during the same period last year, the net loss reached $13 billion on $1.2 billion in revenue.

While revenue multiplied more than 13 times year-over-year, the loss expanded more than sixfold. This dynamic illustrates the massive capital required to train and develop advanced frontier models, presenting investors with a classic dilemma of hyper-growth paired with staggering current expenses.

The move marks a shift as advanced AI developers enter the public markets, giving public investors direct access previously restricted to private rounds or indirect proxies. Participation requirements vary, with foreign offerings typically restricted to qualified investors and minimum investment thresholds starting at $1,000, alongside brokerage commissions ranging from 0.25% to 5%.
