Claude Can Now Build, Run, and Test iOS Apps All by Itself
AI isn't just writing messy code anymore—it's actively tapping on virtual screens to make sure your app doesn't crash on launch. Anthropic just turned their assistant into a full-blown QA team.
The latest public beta of Claude Desktop on macOS embeds a fully functional iOS Simulator directly inside the chat window. Instead of just spewing out code blocks and wishing developers good luck, the AI agent compiles the code, installs the application onto a virtual device, and launches it autonomously.
During the test run, the assistant actively executes defined user scenarios, clicking buttons, filling out forms, and verifying whether the interface behaves as expected. Human developers can sit back and watch the virtual screen update in real time, or step in whenever they feel like taking back control to swipe, tap, switch devices, or record video clips of the action.
To prevent chaos when running multiple tasks, every active session runs inside its own isolated simulator environment, allowing parallel AI agents to test different features simultaneously without stepping on each other's toes. Access currently requires a paid Pro, Max, or Team subscription alongside Xcode and desktop client version 1.24012.0.
