Security circles are buzzing over claims that an artificial intelligence swarm broke into a famous database. Before anyone pulls the plug on the internet, the actual receipts tell a much more mundane story.

Security researcher Chaofan Shou sparked a frenzy by claiming that Kimi K3 needed just 27 minutes and a swarm of 32 AI agents to uncover a zero-day exploit in Redis. The researcher promptly dumped a proof-of-concept repository onto GitHub, showing remote code execution on an authorized database connection.

While hype merchants rushed to predict the immediate end of cybersecurity, the fine print paints a much less terrifying picture. One of the primary flaws targeted by the AI swarm was already known to Redis maintainers and patched before the experiment even began, proving that artificial intelligence is exceptionally skilled at reading old homework.

A second exploit aimed at the latest release was also uploaded to GitHub, though the official Redis team has yet to publicly validate its existence or impact. Meanwhile, full operational logs from the 32 AI agents remain unreleased, leaving the entire speed claim dependent entirely on the author's word.

The dream of automated cyber-warfare remains parked squarely in marketing decks and unverified research posts for now. Until raw logs back up the hype, human engineers still hold the keys to the server room.
