OpenAI Wants to Teach Small Businesses How to Use ChatGPT

Original version ·

OpenAI won't rest until every local bakery and plumbing service relies on prompt engineering to balance their spreadsheets.

The initiative targets small enterprises that desperately want to bolt artificial intelligence onto their daily workflows but lack the dedicated tech teams or cash reserves to figure it out on their own.

To fix this, OpenAI built a three-pronged support structure. The first tier revolves around specialized webinars hosted by company staff and commercial partners. These online sessions walk non-technical owners through automating routine tasks in accounting, digital marketing, and e-commerce.

For those who prefer face-to-face instruction, the newly minted OpenAI Academy division is rolling out in-person training events like their Small Business AI Jams. The third component packages pre-built plugin bundles and custom workflows directly integrated with enterprise software heavyweights, including Shopify, Intuit, Slack, Atlassian, and Wix.

Corporate giants spent billions automating themselves, and now they are coming for the corner grocery store. Replacing human confusion with algorithmic confusion might just be the ultimate digital transformation.
