OpenAI Drops All Text Limits in ChatGPT with New GPT-5.6 Luna!

Original version ·

A billion weekly users can now prompt ChatGPT without constantly running into brick-wall chat quotas. OpenAI is unlocking infinite text conversations while rolling out smarter models with actual thinking buttons.

OpenAI is making GPT-5.6 Luna the default engine for all Free and Go accounts, replacing the older GPT-5.5. Free accounts now get a dedicated "Think" button to trigger deeper reasoning on complex questions, though strict limits still remain on uploaded files, generated images, and voice messages.

For paying subscribers, ChatGPT Plus and Pro tiers gain an upgraded GPT-5.6 Sol model designed specifically for quick web research, writing, and daily decision-making. Instead of a single toggle, paid users get a granular thinking slider to dictate how many extra seconds the AI spends analyzing multi-step logic problems.

Internal evaluations show factual hallucinations plummeted by 62% in GPT-5.6 Luna and 68% in GPT-5.6 Sol compared to previous instant models. At the same time, developer pricing for Luna dropped 80% down to $0.20 per million input tokens, while Sol gains a Fast Mode that processes responses up to 2.5 times faster.

Unlimited free text generation guarantees an immediate flood of AI-generated prose, homework assistance, and midnight therapy sessions across the globe. Server farms will feel the heat as a billion people spam infinite prompts around the clock.
