.rf Domain Owners Are Being Herded Into Gosuslugi Like Clockwork

Original version ·

The corporate overlords at Runiti are showing off how quickly they can link your web domain to state surveillance. It is truly heartwarming to see how efficiently bureaucracy can kill the last shred of internet anonymity in the .rf zone.

The parent company of RU-CENTER and Reg.ru, collectively known as Runiti, is reporting a swift migration of .rf domain administrators into the ESIA portal. Over half of all administrators managing nearly 70% of domain names in the Cyrillic zone have already bowed to the new identification requirements. At RU-CENTER, the compliance rate for individual and corporate users has hit the 57.5% mark, while Reg.ru is trailing slightly behind with 36.2% of users fully registered.

The group has gone to great lengths to ensure their infrastructure is ready for the mandatory state oversight. By passing the FSTEC 117th order and meeting government regulations, they have essentially turned themselves into a high-security checkpoint for the internet. While Reg.ru is still waiting for the green light to connect corporate users to the ESIA system, the technical plumbing is already fully installed and ready to start harvesting data. For those living outside the borders, they have rolled out a special 'trusted administration' service to ensure no one escapes the net.

The clock is ticking because only those who have surrendered their credentials through the state portal will be allowed to legally hold a domain in the national zone once the government completes its official list of approved registrars. The internet used to be a place to hide, but now it is a place where every byte needs a government-issued ID card just to exist in the digital abyss.
