Roku Launches 24/7 Channel Of Pure AI-Generated Shows

Original version ·

Streaming executives finally found a way to completely remove pesky human creativity from your TV screen, replacing it with a non-stop stream of synthetic actors and uncanny digital voices.

Former Xumo co-founder Colin Petrie-Norris and his startup Fairground Entertainment built a platform designed to shove generative AI movies, cartoons, and comedy shows directly onto linear television.

Instead of choosing a specific movie on demand, viewers tune into a non-stop continuous broadcast powered by over 100 creators and 40 generative AI studios, where prompt engineers masquerading as directors get a 50% cut of the advertising revenue.

Viewers immediately revolted on social media, branding the continuous stream as dystopian AI slop filled with melting avatar faces and nightmare-fuel digital voices.

Unbothered by human disgust, Roku is doubling down by pitching cheap AI-generated commercials to local car dealerships and pizza shops looking to bypass traditional production costs.

Cable television spent decades perfecting the art of mindless background noise, but handing the broadcast tower to algorithmically generated fever dreams feels like the logical endgame of content saturation.
