Russia standardizes API access to state registries for Sber and Yandex

A new state roadmap approved by Russian Vice Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko orders the creation of direct API connections between government databases and private tech platforms. The Big Data Association, alongside corporations like Sber, Yandex, VTB, and Avito, pushed for seamless digital pipework into official records.

Under the first stage of the project, custom vehicle history will be fed directly from the Federal Customs Service into private platforms. Automated systems will stream VIN codes, chassis numbers, and body details for cars imported through the Eurasian Economic Union straight to commercial databases. To make this digital swap meet work, government engineers must rebuild internal customs software from the ground up.

The second pillar connects commercial banks directly to tax authority archives. Lenders will receive automated access to corporate charter documents and official business registries via unified digital profiles. While officials insist everything requires user consent, financial institutions are already celebrating the end of manual paper verification.

The final phase opens property records managed by Rosreestr, feeding building construction dates, floor counts, and land plot numbers directly into private mapping software. Implementation of all three data pipelines is officially scheduled across 2026 and 2027.

Handing over complete digital blueprints of personal property and financial profiles to state-backed monopolies under the guise of convenience is a classic administrative maneuver. Surely nothing could possibly go wrong when commercial algorithms get direct real-time hooks into federal surveillance databases.
