Russia to Print Its Own Printer Boards for Katyusha Copiers by 2026

In a groundbreaking triumph of domestic high-tech engineering, Russian electronics makers are finally mastering the ancient alien wizardry of manufacturing basic circuit boards for office printers.

Contract electronics manufacturer CTS, part of the holding company GS Group, signed a contract to produce high-voltage and power supply boards for printer manufacturer Katyusha. The assembly lines are situated inside the Technopolis GS cluster located in Gusev, within the Kaliningrad Oblast.

By autumn 2026, the plant plans to supply a grand batch of 50,000 Russian circuit boards to replace previously imported Chinese components. High-voltage boards generate and distribute electric charge across key laser printing mechanisms, while power supply boards convert incoming grid voltage to feed the internal components.

According to commercial director Egor Makeev and Katyusha managing director Dmitry Vladimirov, the total deal value is estimated by industry observers at between 250 million and 500 million rubles. The printing firm claims that localizing these components will noticeably lower the final production costs for domestic multi-function devices.

Data from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade shows that the regulated government market reached 315,000 printing devices in 2025. Out of that volume, Katyusha sold 100,000 printers and copiers against its full annual capacity of 300,000 units, with total domestic market sales forecasted to hit 8 billion rubles in 2026.
