Galaxy S26 Ultra screens develop a weird red tint
Samsung added anti-peeking tech to its newest flagship, but early buyers are getting a creepy permanent red tint on their displays instead.
Buyers of the new flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra started posting on Reddit showing a distinct reddish tint spreading right in the middle of their displays. Samsung officially launched an internal investigation to figure out why its premium screens are suddenly imitating a glowing target sign.
Community theories point straight at the built-in Privacy Display feature causing premature pixel burn-in. While Samsung hasn't confirmed this hardware link yet, early tests already proved that the privacy filter distorts image quality, dims brightness at certain angles, and leaves users complaining of eye strain and nausea.
Spending over a thousand dollars for a phone screen that acts like a flashing red stop sign is certainly one way to keep private data safe from bystanders.
